The World Famous City

AGRA is one of the historical and oldest city of India. The city is situated on the banks o the river Yamuna. in old time the city has strong walls all around it containing 16 doors. The city got its name Agra by the name of the King Aggarsen. The city has Mughal time monuments due to which it is part of attraction between tourists.

Tajmahal is one of the historical monument made of marble famous all over the world. This was made by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz. It took around 22 years time to build the building and around 22 thousand workers worked hard to complete this monument.

Agra Fort is also one of the historical fort in the world. it has been surrounded by strong red stone walls. It was made by Mughal Emperor Akbar. It took 8 years 9 months and cost 35 lakhs to build this fort in 1574. The famous architecture Qasim Khan supervised all the work during the construction of the fort. There is one door in the fort called Dilli Darwaja facing Jama Masjid in the north west direction.

Jahangir Mahal is two storey building made of red stones situated in front of Amar Singh Darwaja. You can see the work of architecture on the walls of the fort.

Deewane Khaas was made by Emperor Shahjehan in the year 1637 along Yamuna riverr. This was the place for all meetings conducted by the Emperor.

Rambagh garden was built by Babar when he visited India and was troubled with the hot weather conditions.

Fatehpuri Sikri is compared with the Tajmahal. As Tajmahal is made by marble, Fatehpuri Sikri is made of red stones. This place is situated 37 km from Agra.

Agra is one the famous tourist places in the India. You must visit this place and get a chance to see Tajmahal one of the historical monument of the India, which is also included in list of seven wonders of the world. September to April is best season to visit here.
