Delhi CAPITAL of India Delhi is famous for its historical importance. It was destroyed and developed 17 times. From the tourism point of view Delhi is the central point and it has collection of many tourist spots. Situated at the bank of the river Yamuna the city is divided in two parts one is Old Delhi and other is new Delhi. Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Nai Sadak and many famous buildings are situated in Old Delhi. New Delhi area has Parliament House, President Residence, India Gate, National Museum, Jantar Mantar and Pragati Maidan.
Jama Masjid is situated in front of the road leading to Red Fort. It has three big entrances. The area of this building is so big that around 25000 people can worship here at a time. Chandni Chowk is situated at a short distance from Red Fort and Jama Masjid. This is the wholesale market of Delhi from here you can buy any items of daily use. Along with this is Lajpat market from where you can buy electronic items. Qutub Minar is famous for its architectural importance. It was built by Quttubdin Aibak. Pragati Maidan is the place where national and international exhibitions are organised. Book fair is also organised here every year. India Gate is situated at East end of Rajpath is 42 meters high. Famous Amar Jawan Jyoti is here. It was built in the memory of army men died in first world war. Parliament House is situated on the south of Rajpath. This is famous for its historical importance. The building has been made in circle and has Radius of 171 meter. Beside this there are other places also which includes President Residence, Rajghat, Old Fort, Zoo, Connaught Place, Jantar Mantar, Gandhi Museum, Nehru Museum, Dolls Museum, National Museum, Craft Museum, Lotus Temple, Birla Mandir. You can visit here any time. But from September to November is the beast season to visit here. |
