The Pink City

JAIPUR the capital of Rajasthan, beside having historical importance is the symbol of modernity also. This pink city is called the Paris of India.

Surrounded by the Aravali hills from three sides Jaipur was developed systematically by the King Jai Singh (II) in the year 1727. The city was named as pink city due to its pink coloured shops, markets. You can enjoy visiting the market through walk. You will get many hotels and guest houses for staying there between railway station and Sindhi Camp (main bus stand).

City Palace is situated in the middle of the old city is the symbol of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture. Glass painting on the walls of the palace is very impressive. Palace contains beautiful garden, temple and pond.

Jantar Mantar is situated in front of the City Palace was built by King Jai Singh in 18th century is famous for its beauty and Bhulbulaiya. This building contains information about astronomy.

Hawa Mahal built using pink stones and containing many windows is an historical monument of the Jaipur. This five storey building is the symbol of architecture. King Partap Singh made this building in 1799 for his Queens so that they can see the outside view through the windows.

Ram Niwas Garden situated in wide area contains Zoo, Central Museum. Inside the museum you can see the art work including handicraft, woodcraft, jewellerycraft. This place is also known as Albert Hall.

Raj Mandir cinema hall is looks like a palace from inside. You can see the beautiful carpets on the floor, lighting, and painting on the walls and roof.

Jal Mahal situated on the road leading to Amer Fort looks like a lotus blooming in the lake. This has been build in the lake situated in the middle of the hills.

Vidhan Sabha Bhawan is one of the attracting place of the pink city. Built in the time period of seven years this was devoted to the nation by the President K.R. Narayanan.

The pink city is very beautiful place in the hills of Aravali to visit.
