Nainital
City of Lakes

SITUATED in the Kumaun area of newly built state Uttaranchal, Nainital is famous for its natural beauty, Lakes and Water Falls. This is the reason that the city remains full with tourists throughout the year.

Nainital was discovered by an English man named Barren who he visited this place in 1841. He was so impressed with the natural beauty and environment over here. He developed this area as a tourist place and constructed a building named Pilgrim Cottage.

Naini Lake flows in the heart of the city. At the one end of the lake is Tallital and on the other end is Mallital. You can enjoy boating here. The road connecting Tallital and Mallital is called Mall road. You can also enjoy horse riding here. The evening scene is very beautiful here.

Snow View hill is situated at the height of 2270 meters. You can reach there either by walking or through horse riding. Else you can use the Ropeway to reach there.

Naina Peak also called China Peak is the highest hill of the Nainital which is situated at the height of 2610 meters and at a distance of 5.5 km. You can enjoy Trekking here.

Bhimtal is situated at a distance of 22 km. from Nainital is a beautiful tourist spot. This is the natural lake built in the lap of hills. You can enjoy boating here and eating at the restaurant situated in the center of the lake.

Saattal is also a beautiful tourist spot. Situated at a dsitance of 12 km. from Bhimtal there are seven lakes connected with each other. That's why this place is called Saattal.

Khurpatal is at a diatnace of 5 km. from Nainital You can enjoy seeing the fishes in this lake.

Nokuchiatal is at a distance of 4 km. from Bhimtal. This lake has nine corners due to which this called Nokuchiatal.

Bhawali is at a distance of 11 km. from Nainital is a beautiful tourist spot. Here you can see Apple gardens. The environment over here is very soothing.

You can visit here any time of the year. But May June is the best time to visit here.
